Harris Named Regional Field Athlete of the Year

Allison Harris of the Princeton women's track & field team was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Regional Field Athlete of the Year, the USTFCCCA announced today.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Harris ranked 10th nationally and first in the region in the pole vault. She is one of 16 that will be competing at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in College Station Texas.
Harris posted both the Princeton and Ivy League record in the event with a clearance of 4.27 (14-0) at the Virginia Tech Challenge on Feb. 18. She is the first in the league to clear 14 feet, as she improved on her previous best of 4.20 (13-9.25) from last year. Two weeks ago, Harris won her third Ivy League Heps pole vault title, and second consecutive indoor, with a mark of 4.15 (13-7.25).
