Women's Tennis Team Opens Ivy Play With Win at Penn
April 01, 2017 | Women's Tennis
Ivy League play opened with a win for the Princeton women's tennis team Saturday at Penn.
The Tigers rallied from a doubles-point loss to take four of the first five singels matches to end and five of six overall. Clare McKee evened up the score with a win at six to balance out losing the doubles, and though Penn's 64th-ranked Kana Daniel won her match at first, Princeton responded with wins from Nicole Kalhorn, Caroline Joyce and Sivan Krems to find the fourth point, and Tiffany Chen took her match in a tiebreak for the 5-2 margin.
The win was Princeton's ninth in a row against Penn, which has been Princeton's first Ivy opponent of the season annually since 2004. Princeton will have its first home match of the Ivy slate Friday against Cornell at 2 p.m. at the Lenz Tennis Center or in Jadwin Gym in the event of inclement weather.
Order of finish: Doubles: 1, 2, 3; Singles: 6, 1, 5, 4, 3, 2
