Princeton Drops First CWPA Contest To No. 7 Michigan, 14-6

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The No. 7 Michigan Wolverines remained unbeaten in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) play as they defeated the No. 10 Princeton Tigers, 14-6, at Kinney Natatorium on Sunday morning.
Haley Wan had a team-high three goals, giving her eight hat tricks in her last nine games. Chelsea Johnson also added two tallies while Ashleigh Johnson made seven saves in the loss.
Michigan blitzed Princeton to start the game, scoring five goals in the first period, going in front, 5-2. The Wolverines kept up the offensive firepower, amassing six more goals in the second stanza and took a 11-4 lead into the intermission. Michigan posted three more tallies in the third frame, never allowing the Tigers to get back into the game.
Princeton falls to 18-3 this season and 3-1 in the CWPA. The Tigers will continue conference action next week at Hartwick as they take on No. 15 Indiana (1 p.m.) and Brown (7:30 p.m.) next Saturday (Apr. 8).
