Olivia Fiechter, Kira Keating Named Co-Captains For Upcoming Squash Season

Rising seniors Olivia Fiechter and Kira Keating have been valuable members of the Princeton women's squash starting lineup since the day they first stepped on campus. Next year, they will serve as co-captains for a Princeton squad expected to have one of the most talented young cores in the country.
Fiechter is a three-time All-America and All-Ivy League honoree. Though she dealt with injuries throughout her junior season, she still managed to earn First-Team All-America honors, and she had a key win at the No. 1 position to help the Tigers defeat Yale 6-3 in the Howe Cup quarterfinal, held in the Jadwin Squash Courts. A former Ivy League Rookie of the Year and CSA individual quarterfinalist, Fiechter has won 26 matches in her career while holding the No. 1 spot throughout her Tiger career.
Keating has played in the middle and bottom thirds of the lineup during her career, and she has 32 victories on her resumé already. Keating showed poise in big matches as early as her freshman season; she went 2-1 at the 2014 Howe Cup, including a crucial 3-2 win over Yale in the Howe Cup quarterfinal, and she added a win over Harvard in a 5-4 semifinal loss. She was undefeated against Yale this past season, including a road victory that helped the Tigers claim a 5-4 win in New Haven.
"I am looking forward to working closely with Olivia and Kira," head coach Gail Ramsay said. "They both have been strong personalities on the team and I think their contributions to this next season will be very important and will help meet our goals."
Princeton finished third in the Ivy League and fourth nationally this past season.
