April 05, 2017 | Women's Water Polo
PRINCETON, N.J – After a 2-1 weekend at Bucknell, the Princeton Tigers remain No. 10 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll, the conference announced today.
The Tigers opened their last weekend on Saturday with two victories over the Saint Francis Red Flashes and Bucknell Bison. The Tigers defeated the Red Flashes, 10-5, with Chelsea Johnson, Hannah Lapkin and Morgan Hallock posting multi-goal outings. In the night cap, Haley Wan tied her career high with five tallies as the Tigers dropped Bucknell, 9-3. Wan added another hat trick vs. No. 7 Michigan in a 14-6 loss on Sunday. She has eight hat tricks in her last nine games and has 50 goals for the season.
The CWPA Varsity Poll top ten remained unchanged from the previous week as USC remains the top squad. Stanford, UCLA Arizona State and Calif., are right behind the Trojans. Michigan, with its unbeaten conference mark, is the top CWPA team at No. 7.
Princeton, at 18-3 overall and 3-1 in the CWPA, continue conference action this week at Hartwick as they take on No. 15 Indiana (1 p.m.) and Brown (7:30 p.m.) Saturday (Apr. 8).
