Johnson Scores Another Goal, Makes 14 Saves In Win Over No. 17 Hartwick

ONEONTA, N.Y.- The No. 10 Princeton Tigers held off the No. 17 Hartwick College Hawks, 13-12, to pick up a weekend sweep in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) action.
Haley Wan registered yet another hat trick to set a new career high with 59 goals for the season. She also added four assists in the game. Lindsey Kelleher also got into the action as she tallied three goals as well. Ashleigh Johnson made 14 saves in the victory and scored her second goal of the year.
Princeton opened up the game with three of the first four goals, but the home team tied the contest at 4-all with 24 seconds remaining in the first stanza. Ashleigh Johnson then whipped a shot past Hartwick's goaltender to give the Tigers' a 5-4 advantage after eight minutes.
The Tigers recorded four of the first five tallies of the second quarter, stretching their lead to three, 9-6, with 44 seconds remaining in the half. Princeton took a 10-7 advantage into the intermission.
After Hartwick collected the first goal out into the second half, Princeton ripped off three consecutive goals to take 13-8 lead. Hartwick climbed within one (13-12) as it scored with 42 seconds to go in the contest, but Princeton held the home team off the scoreboard to secure its 11th win over a ranked opponent.
