Saturday at NCAA Women's Golf Championship Cancelled
May 20, 2017 | Women's Golf
Due to thunderstorms in the area of Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill., outside Chicago, Maya Walton and the rest of the field at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships will have Saturday off.
All players will play 54 holes through Monday with one round over each of the next two days. Previously, only the top 15 (of 24) teams and top nine players not on those 15 teams would make Monday's round.
Walton is at +16 after a Friday round that saw her improve as the day went on. After making par on only one of the first eight holes, Walton didn't make par on only two of the final 10. That came after she showed similar improvement at the NCAA Athens Regional, going from a first-round 75 to 70 and 69 over the final two rounds to nab the final individual bid from the region to the NCAA finals.
Walton will tee off Sunday at her original Saturday tee time of 1:55 p.m. ET/12:55 p.m. CT.
