Princeton Has Eight Players Earn Academic Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Eight Princeton Tigers were named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete and the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Teams, the conference announced today.
Both awards honor student-athletes who have achieved grade point averages (GPA) of 3.2 or higher and competed during the season into three categories, Outstanding (3.71-4.00), Superior (3.41-3.70) and 37 Excellent (3.20-3.40).
Kasey Bersh, Sydney Cheong, Tatum Turetzky and Charlotte Valentine received superior honors while Amy Castellano, Lindsey Kelleher, Hannah Lapkin, Sydney Saxe picked up excellent accolades.
The Tigers finished the 2017 season at 24-4 and reached the CWPA Championship game. It was the fifth time in the last six seasons that Princeton reached the 20-win milestone. Head coach Luis Nicolao's unit won 12 games vs. ranked opponents and seven contests vs. California teams.
