Valentine Playing For New Zealand in 2017 University Games

TAIPEI – Rising junior Charlotte Valentine has been participating with New Zealand in the 2017 University Games.

New Zealand is 0-2 in tournament, having dropped a 15-4 decision to Canada on the first day of competition (Friday). Japan took down New Zealand, 14-10, on Sunday. Valentine played five minutes vs. Canada and increased her playing time with 10 minutes vs. Japan.

The rising junior played in 19 games this season for the Tigers. She scored six times, added three assists and swiped 13 passes. She finished as a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete and was named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic team.

The Tigers finished the 2017 season at 24-4 and reached the CWPA Championship game. It was the fifth time in the last six seasons that Princeton reached the 20-win milestone. Head coach Luis Nicolao's unit won 12 games vs. ranked opponents and seven contests vs. California teams.
