Lund & Neatby Named Preseason All-League; Tigers Picked 6th and Receive National Votes

The Princeton women's hockey team finds itself the first team also receiving votes of the USCHO Pre-Season top 10, which was released on Monday, Sept. 18, and has been announced as the No. 6 ranked team in the ECAC Hockey Preseason Poll.
The Tigers earned 16 points in the USCHO national poll, along with Colgate. Of the 12 teams in the ECAC, seven are in the poll or receiving votes. Princeton was ranked ninth in the final poll of the 2016-17 season and was consistently in the top 10 all of last season. The Tigers went 20-10-3 last season and recorded the second-longest unbeaten streak in program history with 11-game run in which they outscored their opponents 43-14. The team had seven wins over ranked opponents
In the ECAC, Princeton was selected sixth with 82 points. Last year the Tigers finished fourth with a 14-6-2 league record, and reached the ECAC semifinals for the first time since the 2005-16 season, eventually falling the national champion.
Princeton returns three All-ECAC selections including the Goalie of the Year Stephanie Neatby. Neatby has been named the preseason Goalie of the Year. In her first year, she posted a 12-5-1 record and had the second-best save percentage and goals against in the nation, with a .950 save percentage and a 1.52 GAA. She had a 6-2 record against ranked teams and posted four shutouts. During the season she set the Princeton record for saves in a game when she stopped 60 shots in a triple overtime quarterfinal game against Quinnipiac. She also holds the school single-season record for save percentage and GAA.
Last year's ECAC Rookie of the Year Carly Bullock returns for her sophomore season, as does linemate and junior Karlie Lund who has been named to to the all-league preseason team. The 2016 ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year, Lund is a two-time all-ECAC forward who was also up for the league's Best Forward award last year. Lund has been Princeton leading scorer the last two season. Last year she had a team-high 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points, ranking 11th in the nation in points per game. In 22 league games, she had 33 points. She had an 18-game point-scoring streak from November through January and finished the season with a +28 on-ice rating.
