Seggerman Notches Two Wins Over Ranked Opponents Saturday at Lenz
September 23, 2017 | Men's Tennis
Freshman Ryan Seggerman went 2 for 2 Saturday against ITA top-70 opponents as the Ivy Plus Invitational wrapped its second day at the Lenz Tennis Center.
"Ryan picked up two more hard-fought wins today against quality opponents," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We're excited to have him in the singles final of the top flight at our home event. We lost some three-set matches today where I felt we let the momentum get away from us. Nonetheless, we're competing hard and growing each match. Collectively, we look forward to finishing strong tomorrow in both singles and doubles."
Seggerman will compete against Penn State's Constant De La Bassetiere, ranked 118th in the nation, in Sunday's 8:30 a.m. final of the Tiger draw, the top of the four draws at the event. Saturday, Seggerman beat Baylor's 68th-ranked Jimmy Bendeck, 6-1, 7-6(4) and then beat Cornell's 57th-ranked Lev Kazakov, the top-ranked player at the event, 7-6(5), 6-3 to reach the final.
