Tornetta Selected as Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Julianna Tornetta was selected as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today.

The freshman recorded her first collegiate goal in the 29th minute on Sunday at No. 3 Delaware. She avoided a defender in the circle and then lifted the ball over goalie Emmeline Oltmans.

In the second half, Ryan McCarthy found Tornetta, who got around Oltmans and blasted in her second goal of game in the 49th minute, setting the score at 4-3.

Delaware added an insurance tally with under two and half minutes to go, sealing a 5-3 victory.

Tornetta leads the team with four points in two goals and is tied for third in shots.

Princeton welcomes Rutgers on Friday (4 p.m.) to Bedford Field before a meeting vs. No. 7 Penn State on Sunday (12 p.m.).
