Princeton hosts Seton Hall in the 2017 home opener this Thursday, Sept. 7. Game time is at 4 p.m., in the first game of a doubleheader with the women's team on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium. The game will be streamed on the Ivy League Network and simulcast on Facebook Live.

Princeton has a 15-11-5 edge in the all-time series with Seton Hall since the teams first met in 1986. The Tigers have won the last nine meetings, dating back to 2008. The largest differential was a 7-3 game in 2011 at Seton Hall. Last year Princeton took a 3-1 game in South Orange.

Princeton opened its season last weekend at the Central New York Classic. The Tigers opened with a 1-1 draw against then-ranked No. 8 Syracuse before a 1-0 loss at Colgate. Frankie DeRosa, one of three freshmen starters, put up the Tigers' first goal of the season, the opening goal against the Orange. Senior Daniel Bowkett assisted on the goal and leads the team with four shots. Freshman Kevin O'Toole and junior Jeremy Colvin have also had their chances to hit the back of the net. Sophomore Jacob Schachner was named the Ivy League Player of the Week as he had matching career-high four-save games last weekend. He sports a 0.90 GAA and an .800 save percentage.Â

Seton Hall is 1-2-1, having opened the season on Aug. 25, playing to a 1-1 draw with St. Peter's before a 2-1 loss to Rider. The team has played just one game on the road, a 1-0 loss at Stony Brook before winning its first game on Monday against Sacred Heart a 3-0 shutout. Five different Pirates have scored, with junior Gabriel Viola having a hand in three. He scored once and adds two assists. Senior Mario Prata, sophomore Jonathan Jimenez and senior Andres Arcila have a goal and an assist apiece. Marco Neves takes the most shots on the team, with 14, but five on frame with zero goals. Seton Hall has started rookie Eliot Munford in goal the last two games. He has a 0.50 GAA and an .875 save percentage, allowing one goal on eight shots. Sophomore Steven Catudal was in net the first two games and had a 1.35 GAA and an .813 save percentage and three goals on 16 shots.
