It'll be Orange and Black against Green and White when the Princeton men's tennis team opens its spring dual-match season with a Sunday doubleheader in Jadwin Gym.
At 11 a.m., the Tigers will open with a match against the school that was assistant coach Damian Hume's last stop before coming to Princeton, Michigan State. At 3:30 p.m., the Tigers will turn around to face Wagner. Both matches will be streamed on the Ivy League network here. Admission to all home Princeton regular-season tennis matches is free.
The Spartans are 2-2 on the dual season so far, opening with a home doubleheader sweep of Illinois-Chicago and IUPUI on Jan. 13 before heading to Notre Dame and Vanderbilt last weekend. Princeton and Michigan State have met just once, a 4-3 Tiger win in 2013 in East Lansing.
Rookie Kabir Sarita, at 8-6, and junior Jimmy Wasserman, at 8-7, were the Tigers' winningest singles players during the individual fall season, and freshman Noah Agarwal won a team-high eight doubles matches, getting four of those wins alongside sophomore Eduardo Paz and four alongside Wasserman. Rookie Ryan Seggerman had two of his six singles wins come against ITA-ranked opponents.
Following the opening twinbill, Princeton will head out on the road for up to 10 matches beginning with a trip to the Pacific Northwest at Portland Feb. 1 and Washington Feb. 3 before ending the road swing March 3 against Binghamton.
