Three matches in a four-day span will open the dual-match season for the Princeton women's tennis team when Temple, Delaware and No. 12 Auburn come to Jadwin Gym Thursday through Sunday.
Princeton was due to play Temple last weekend, but the match was postponed to Thursday at 11 a.m. Saturday will bring Delaware to Jadwin for a 12 p.m. match and Sunday will bring Auburn in for an 11 a.m. match.
Princeton is 17-1 all-time against Temple, a series that will be Princeton's second-most played non-conference series when Thursday's match begins. The Tigers have played Rutgers 40 times and San Diego State also 18 times. The Owls
The Tigers are 2-0 all-time against Delaware, picking up early-season wins in Jadwin each of the last two seasons, and 1-0 against Auburn, with the only meeting coming in 1981 at Clemson. The Blue Hens opened their dual season with a loss to George Washington last weekend, and Auburn enters the weekend at 5-0 including a win over then-No. 17 Miami last weekend. It's a two-match Ivy trip this weekend for Auburn, which will play at Cornell Friday and was ranked 12th this week by both the ITA and USTA.
Underclassmen had the most singles wins in the fall individual season, with rookie Nathalie Rodilosso going 9-4, classmate Stephanie Schrage going 8-6 with three wins against top-125 opponents, and sophomore Clare McKee went 8-6. Schrage and junior Nicole Kalhorn and Rodilosso and junior Catalina Vives were Princeton's winningest doubles duos in the fall, each going 4-1.
The trio of matches will begin a nine-match homestand for Princeton, running through March 3 against Penn State. During that run, Princeton will also host the ECAC Championships Feb. 9-11. Admission to all Princeton home regular-season tennis matches is free.
