Princeton Heads To Navy For Saturday Dual
January 04, 2018 | Men's Swimming and Diving
The Princeton men's swimming and diving team will open the 2018 portion of its schedule Saturday afternoon against one of its most historic non-Ivy League rivalries. The Tigers will head to Annapolis, Md., to take on the undefeated Navy Midshipmen in a 2 pm competition at Lejeune Hall.
Princeton (6-2) won its last five meets of 2017, all against Ivy League competition. The Tigers' final win of December was an exciting 172-128 victory over Columbia, a meet that was tight through the middle of the meet. It was the Senior Day meet for the Tigers, and Class of 2018 standouts Alex Lewis and Corey Okubo were among the individual winners for Princeton during the meet.
Navy (8-0) enters the meet off a 209.5-90.5 victory over Army in the traditional Star Meet, also held in Annapolis.
Princeton and Navy have met five times this decade, and the Tigers have a slight 3-2 edge in a meet that has typically been both close and exciting. The two meets in Annapolis have been especially close; the Tigers won 152.5-147.5 in 2012, while the Midshipmen won 157-143 in 2014.

Following Saturday's race, Princeton will break for Finals, and then it will turn its attention to its annual H-Y-P weekend, held Feb. 2-3 in Boston.
