Princeton Tops Cornell, Penn In 2018-19 Ivy Opener

COMPLETE RESULTS
The Princeton men's swimming & diving team opened the 2018-19 Ivy League season in impressive fashion Saturday in Ithaca, N.Y. The Tigers won a tri-meet in Teagle Pool with wins over both Cornell (220-80) and Penn (179-121).
Princeton went 2-3 in the 200 medley relay, with the quartet of Cole Buese, Corey Lau, Murphy McQuet and Christian Feiler finishing second in 1:30.83. Sophomore Levy Nathan opened the individual session by winning the 500 free in 9:31.89, and McQuet followed up by winning the 200 free by more than two seconds in 1:38.01.
After a runner-up finish for Buese in the 100 back (49.52), Lau won the 100 breast in 55.95 and freshman Raunak Khosla took the 200 fly in 1:48.96. Feiler won a tight 50 free in 20.65, and McQuet picked up a double by winning the 100 free in 44.59.
Buese won the 200 back in 1:49.41, while teammate Wade O'Brien followed with a second-place finish in 1:50.30, and Buese came back shortly afterwards to win the 100 fly in 49.46. McQuet led off the winning 400 free relay of Tyler Lin, Joshua Brown and Charles Leibson, which took the finale in 3:03.12.
The meet began Friday with diving, and Princeton's returning NCAA duo of Charlie Minns and Colten Young finished 1-2 on the 1-meter board. Minns won with 331.95 points, while Young took second with 298.10.
Princeton will be off for Thanksgiving weekend, and then will head to Providence the following weekend for the three-day Brown Invitational.
