Alarie Picks Up Second Straight Ivy Player of the Week Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – For the second straight week and the 11th time in her career, Bella Alarie was honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week.

Alarie opened the week with 16 points, seven rebounds and four blocks at Monmouth on Tuesday. She followed that with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting (55.6 percent), adding four assists, three steals and two blocks in a victory over Marist on Saturday.

In her three games since returning from injury, the 2018 Ivy Player of the Year is averaging 18.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game. In the game vs. Marist, Alarie moved into second place all-time in blocks with 141. She surpassed Lea Ann Drohan '99 and only trails Ellen DeVoe '86 (157).

Alarie was a six-time Player of the Week award winner last season, while securing nine Ivy Rookie of the Week honors and three more Player of the Week selections as a freshman. She is now tied for fourth in conference history with her 11 weekly honors and is tied for second in program history with Blake Dietrick '15 (11).

Princeton seeks to extend its four-game winning streak on Wednesday (Dec. 19) with a contest at St. Francis-Brooklyn. The game is set for 2 p.m. tip-off.
