Meyers and Littlefield Pace Princeton In Big Victory Over Dartmouth, 82-63

PRINCETON, N.J. – Abby Meyers and Carlie Littlefield combined for 36 points as the Princeton Tigers (16-4, 6-1 Ivy League) blew by the Dartmouth Big Green (12-9, 4-4 Ivy), 82-63, at Jadwin Gym on Saturday evening.

Meyers recorded a season-best 19 points on an impressive 7-of-10 shooting including three three-pointers. Littlefield was 6-of-10 from the floor, dropping in three treys, finishing with 17 points. Bella Alarie snagged her ninth double-double of the season, surpassing her total from last season, with 12 points and 11 rebounds, adding four assists and three blocks.

Princeton allowed just two baskets to Dartmouth in the first eight minutes of the game as it raced out to a 17-5 lead. A trey from the Big Green's Emily Slagle briefly stopped the Tigers' momentum as Meyers ran off five straight points of her own to give the home squad a 22-8 advantage after the first quarter.

Dartmouth did not go away as it opened up the second frame with a 11-3 spurt to climb within six (25-19) as the clock ticked under six minutes. The Big Green got the Ivy contest as close as two possessions, but Princeton ended the first half with 9-of-13 points, taking a 40-30 lead into halftime. Princeton knocked down seven three-pointers in the first half with Meyers' 10 points pacing the offense.

Head coach Courtney Banghart's unit started quickly in the second half, posting nine of the first 11 points, pushing its advantage back up to 16 (52-36) with 4:47 to go. The Tigers maintained a double-digit lead (59-46) as the fourth stanza got underway.

In front by 14, Princeton made three consecutive baskets while forcing two Dartmouth turnovers, extending its command to 20, 68-48, with 5:45 remaining. The Tigers never allow the Big Green to lurk as it comfortably cruised to the 19-point victory.

Princeton's bench has 39 points in each of its last three games, which is a season best. The Tigers have not trailed during its three-game winning streak. Princeton created 19 turnovers leading to 23 points.

Slagle had a team-high 18 points, missing just two attempts in 10 tries for Dartmouth. Katie Letkewicz dropped in 12 points in the loss.

The homestand continues for Princeton on Tuesday as Penn makes the trip. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on NBC Sports Philadelphia + and streamed on the Ivy League Network.
