Three in Texas Up Next for Tigers

The nationally ranked Princeton women's tennis team will travel to Texas for three matches this week with Ivy League play soon set to begin.
The matches in Texas are set for Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. local at UT Arlington, Saturday at 1 p.m. ET/noon local against William & Mary at Rice, and Sunday at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. local at Rice. While Princeton is ranked 20th nationally as a team by the USTA and 36th by the ITA, Tiger rookie Katrine Steffensen is ranked 121st and senior Stephanie Schrage is ranked 123rd in singles by the ITA, and junior Nicole Kalhorn and Schrage are ranked 79th in doubles. Among Princeton's opponents, William & Mary is ranked 50th, and the Tribe count Rosie Cheng 111th in singles. Rice has Wendy Zhang ranked 104th in singles and Zhang and Lindsey Hodge are ranked 26th in doubles.
Princeton enters the week on a four-match win streak and at 11-1 overall. UT Arlington is 6-5 after a trip to Northern California that concluded Monday, while William & Mary is 9-6 entering a Friday match against Rice and Rice is 8-6 heading into that match.
Princeton won the first meeting with UT Arlington last year 4-1 in Texas. William & Mary has won six of the teams' nine all-time meetings, though Princeton has won the last three, last in 2011. Princeton and Rice have split their two matches, with Princeton winning in 2016 and Rice in 2017.
Ivy League play will begin Saturday, March 31 with a visit from Penn.
