Princeton Opens Texas Trip with Win at UT Arlington

A three-match trip to Texas began with a win Wednesday for the Princeton women's tennis team as the Tigers beat UT Arlington 4-1.
Princeton, ranked 20th nationally by the USTA and 36th by the ITA, improved to 12-1 on the season with its fifth win in a row. The Tigers will compete again Friday at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. local in a Rice-hosted match against William & Mary before facing Rice Saturday. Against the Mavericks, Princeton allowed only one game in claiming the doubles point, and the Tigers won three of the first four matches off court to clinch the win. Gaby Pollner put the Tigers up 2-0 with a win at fifth, and after a UT Arlington win at third, Clare McKee and Katrine Steffensen, who teamed for a doubles win at second, won in singles at fourth and first to get Princeton to four points.
