Princeton Falls at Rice to Close Spring Trip

The three-match spring trip to Texas ended Sunday for the Princeton women's tennis team with a 6-1 defeat at Rice.
The Owls grabbed the doubles point to open the afternoon and went on to take the first three singles matches to finish, all in straight sets, to clinch the win. The three remaining singles matches all went to a third-set tiebreak format, and Gaby Pollner won her match at fourth singles to claim a point for the Tigers.
Princeton, ranked 36th nationally by the ITA and 20th by the USTA, will begin the Ivy League season Saturday at home against Penn.
