Princeton Jumps To No. 17 In CWPA Varsity Poll, Travels to Hartwick This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – After taking down two nationally ranked opponents, the Princeton Tigers jumped to No. 17 in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll.
After beginning the season 0-4, the Tigers has ripped off six consecutive victories. At the Princeton Invitational, head coach Becca Dorst's squad dropped George Washington (14-6), Iona (13-5) and Villanova (13-3) before defeating George Washington again last Saturday on the road (15-11). The Tigers defeated No. 15 Wagner (9-7) and No. 18 San Jose State (8-6, OT) at the Harvard Invitational last weekend.
Stanford and California are tied at the top at the CWPA Varsity Poll, followed by USC, UCLA and Hawaii. Michigan sits as the top CWPA squad in the poll at No. 9.
Haley Wan leads the Tigers with 27 points and 17 steals this season. She is one of five players to score at least 10 goals (17). Chelsea Johnson's 18 tallies are the team-best as are her 15 drawn ejections. Marissa Webb has 106 saves and a .582 save percentage in net for Princeton.
Dorst's unit will travel to Hartwick this weekend to battle the Hawks (10 a.m.) and No. 9 Michigan Wolverines (4:30 p.m.) on Saturday (Mar. 10). Princeton has lost just one to Hartwick in 42 tries. Michigan holds a 20-8 lead in the series history while the Tigers are 28-5 against Brown all-time. The Tigers also take on the Brown Bears on Sunday (Mar. 11) at 11:30 a.m. Each game will be streamed by Hartwick for free.
