April 11, 2018 | Men's Tennis
The Princeton men's tennis team's final home weekend of the Ivy season is set for Saturday against Yale and Sunday against Brown, both for 1 p.m. starts.
Matches will be played at the Lenz Tennis Center, or in Jadwin Gym in the event of inclement weather.
Harvard enters the weekend leading the league at 3-0 with Columbia at 2-0, Dartmouth and Penn next at 2-1, followed by Princeton at 1-2 and Yale, Brown and Cornell all at 0-2.
Yale has not defeated the Tigers since 2009, a Princeton winning streak of 11 matches, and Princeton has already defeated Yale this season, winning 4-0 in an ECAC Championship quarterfinal match. Yale's last win in Princeton was the prior season to its last win overall against the Tigers, in 2008. Princeton has won 10 in a row against Brown with the Bears' last win in the series also coming in 2009, and the last time Brown won in Princeton was also in 2008.
Senior Luke Gamble and sophomore Davey Roberts co-lead the team with 13 singles wins in dual-match play, and sophomore Payton Holden and freshman Ryan Seggerman lead the team with 14 doubles wins, all as a pair with a 12-6 record on court two and 2-1 on court one.
Gamble and his fellow seniors - Diego Vives, Ben Tso and Kial Kaiser - will be recognized prior to Saturday's match and have been a part of 63 dual-match wins, including returning the program to the NCAA team tournament in 2015 for the first time since 1998.
Following the weekend, the Tigers will head to Harvard and Dartmouth to conclude the Ivy season April 21-22.
