No. 19 Ranked Tigers Dominate in 18-4 Win Versus Yale

Princeton had eight different goal scorers as the No. 19 ranked Tigers routed Yale, 18-4 this afternoon at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium. The 14-goal victory ties a series record of margin of victory, from 1989. The win also extends Princeton's streak in the series to 11.

The Tigers had an 8-1 lead at halftime and continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 10-3.

Freshman Sam Fish earned the win making three saves, as Princeton outshot Yale 44-14. Senior Mary Kate McDonough stopped both shots she faced coming in on relief for the final nine minutes. Although Yale's Sydney Marks allowed 18 goals, she did make 17 saves.

Princeton's strong presence around the draw circle helped the team jump out to the lead and they ended winning 16 of 24 with freshman Marge Donovan picking up a game-high six draw controls.

Freshman Kyla Sears had a five-point game with four goals and one assist. Junior Allie Rogers and sophomore Tess D'Orsi each had four points, scoring three goals and added one assist apiece. Senior Ellie McNulty was the fourth Tiger with a hat trick.

The Tigers defense forced Yale to cough up 11 possessions with Rogers causing a team-best three turnovers. Junior Alex Argo had two caused turnovers. Yale was just 12 for 21 on clears thanks to the Princeton ride. Going the opposite way the Tigers were a perfect 23 for 23 on clears.

Princeton continues its four-game homestand next Saturday, April 21 hosting Cornell at 1 p.m.
