Wan and Webb Pick Up CWPA Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – For their stellar performances, Haley Wan and Marissa Webb picked up Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) weekly accolades, the conference announced today.
Wan was honored as the CWPA Co-Player of the Week for banner weekend at Harvard. The senior scored twice, had two helpers and a steal as Princeton upset No. 13 Indiana. She followed that with a hat trick, two assists and four steals vs. St. Francis. Wan was even better on Sunday, dropping in four goals, three assists, a steal and two drawn ejections vs. No. 12 Hartwick in an upset victory before a remarkable performance in another upset win over No. 9 Michigan with five points and six steals. This is her fifth conference player of the week accolade.
Webb was honored as the CWPA Rookie and Defender of the Week. It was another outstanding weekend for the freshman goalie who had three 10+ save outings. Webb stopped 10 shots against No. 13 Indiana and followed that with 10 more saves against No. 12 Hartwick. She saved her best performance for last as she made an unbelievable 15 saves as Princeton ended No. 9 Michigan's 20-game winning streak. She also contributed two steals and two assists in four games. It's the third time she's been picked as Defender of the Week, but the first time she was nabbed as the top rookie.
Princeton finishes the regular season this week at DeNunzio Pool (Apr. 14-15). The Tigers take on George Washington (11:30 a.m.) and Brown (7:30 p.m.) on Saturday along with Harvard (10:30 a.m.) and Bucknell (3:30 p.m.) on Sunday. The game vs. Harvard can be seen on ESPNU.
