Robinson '18 Signs With Krofdorf Knights
September 06, 2018 | Women's Basketball
Marburg, Germany – Leslie Robinson '18 has signed a professional contract with Krofdorf Knights of the Bundesliga League.
Â
"This year I will be playing in Germany and learning about a new culture," said Robinson. "This is something that I did not know would be possible, but now that it has presented itself I will do everything in my power to cherish the moment. I will my miss my Princeton Women's Basketball family across the pond, but will be following along all year and cheering them on from Germany. I cannot wait for this new adventure and would not have been able to get here without my family, friends and Princeton.
Â
"We're all so excited for Leslie's next step in her basketball career," mentioned Princeton head coach Courtney Banghart. "Leslie will bring so much versatility to her new team. She handles the ball, she is an elite passer, she can score in all three dimensions of the game, and she already handles herself like a pro in terms of the training and commitment to skill development the level requires. The Krofdorf Knights are getting a gifted leader, player, competitor, and person. We'll be cheering hard from Princeton."
Â
In April, Robinson became the second Ivy League player to have been selected in the WNBA Draft following Allison Feaster (Harvard), who was picked fifth overall in the 1998 draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. The former Tiger was selected 34th overall by the New York Liberty.
Â
Robinson started Ivy play last season with a stellar 15-point, five-assist, four-rebound, three-steal performance at Penn (Jan. 6). She followed with three consecutive games in double figures including 18 points, nine rebounds and two steals at Yale (Feb. 2). The Corvallis, Ore., native was a combined 14-of-20 shooting at Cornell (Feb. 16) and Columbia (Feb. 17), finishing the weekend with 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per meeting. In her second to last career home outing, Robinson registered one of the greatest games in Ivy history, securing what is believed to be program's first triple double against Brown (Mar. 2), scoring 10 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists.
Â
The senior captain completed the regular season at 10.2 points on 44.3 percent from the floor, along with 7.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.5 steals per game. Her 129 assists were the sixth most in a single-season in program history while her 112 career games are tied for the 10th highest in Princeton history.
