Daniels and Brown Shine In 60M Hurdles At Navy Invite

Annapolis, Md. – Joey Daniels ran the 12th quickest time in the country, winning the 60m hurdles event (7.88) at the Navy Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

His teammate, Christian Brown, was right behind, posting a 7.90, good for the 15th best time in the nation. It makes Princeton the only school in Division-I with two times among the top 15. Brown's pace is also the second-best mark in program history.

Princeton had the two best in the long jump as Jesse Thibodeau (7.16m) and Austin Princewill (7.11m) were 1-2. Princewill's jump places him in the top 50 in the NCAA.

Connor Matthews (48.826) lost in the 400m race by one-thousands of a second to Anthony Okolo (48.825) of Penn. It's Matthews' fastest sprint of the indoor campaign and is in the top 40 times in the nation. Michael Phillippy was fifth in the 13-competitor field (49.70).
Greg Sholars ran to the ninth quickest time in program history with a 21.91 in the 200m, good for fifth in the contest.
Andrei Iosivas took home the 60m dash in the Heptathlon with a time of 7.02, leading Penn's Evan Lee (7.11). Harry Lord was third in the 1000m (2.49.02) while Iosivas was third in the Long Jump (6.93).
Princeton ran its top time of the winter campaign in the 4x400 relay (Sholars, Dixon, Matthews, Phillippy) with a 3:17.04, finishing second among six squads.

Jeffrey Lee-Heidenreich finished third in the high jump (2.05m), his second-best jump of the indoor season.

Noah Hurley placed third in the pole vault (4.70), his best mark of the winter.

Sam Ellis was third in the 500m with a personal-best of 1:05.30. His teammate, Kieran McDermott, was right behind him in fourth (1:05.98).
Simang'aliso Ndhlovu was fourth in the 60m dash with a 6.93 while Daniel Afolabi was right outside the top five (sixth) at 6.97Â in the 15-runner race.
The Tigers will take some time before hosting HYP at Jadwin Gym on Jan. 26.
