Souter Wins Pentathlon At Multi-Event Meet At Jadwin

PRINCETON, N.J. – Kasja Souter took the top spot in the pentathlon at the Princeton Multi-Event meet at Jadwin Gym on Wednesday afternoon.

Souter won the 60m hurdles and long jump while finishing second in the high jump and 800m to earn 3,615 points. Souter's total is the sixth most in indoor program history. Frances Lodge was second (3,448) with victories in high jump, shot put and 800m. Lindsey Schmidt secured 2,897 points and Mikaela Sawyer had 2,808. Adelphi's Kiara Birch nabbed 2,682 points.

Souter posted an 8.90 in the 60m hurdles to scamper away with the top time. Lodge was second (9.42) while Schmidt (9.70) and Sawyer were (9.96) the top four finishers. Princeton also had the top four spots in the high jump with Lodge securing a 1.58m. Souter and Schmidt was right behind her (1.55m).

Lodge threw 10.56m in the shot put to earn another victory. Birch was second (10.51m) and Souter nabbed a 10.37m. Souter had a personal-best 5.45m as she won the long jump. Lodge placed second (5.07m) with Schmidt (4.81m) and Sawyer (4.69) were among the top four.

Princeton registered the top three runners in the 800m as Lodge recorded the quickest pace (2:24.12). Souter was just off the mark with a 2.:24.30 while Sawyer was third (2:38.62).

Head coach Michelle Eisenreich's team will take part in the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup, hosted by Penn State on Saturday (Feb. 2).
