Fillier Earns ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month

For the second consecutive month, Princeton's Sarah Fillier has been named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month.
Fillier didn't just lead the ECAC in scoring during the month of January, but the entire nation, averaging 2.80 points per game. In just five games she collected 14 points with six goals and eight assists. She had at least two points in every single game, was a +9 and won 71 face offs.
She started the month with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win at Harvard. She followed up with two goals and an assist at Dartmouth. At No. 4 Cornell, Fillier scored twice and had two assists in a 5-0 shutout. The following afternoon she had two helpers in a 2-2 draw at No. 9 Colgate. Fillier capped off the month with the game-winning goal and two assists versus Penn State.
After her three-point outing against the Nittany Lions, Fillier took over as the nation's leading scorer with 35 points in 17 games.
Fillier and the No. 4 ranked Princeton Tigers host St. Lawrence tomorrow night at 6 p.m., at Hobey Baker Rink and No. 5 Clarkson on Saturday at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
