Women’s Tennis Goes Undefeated on Day One at June Stewart Invite

RESULTS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Princeton University women's tennis team had a dominant opening day at the June Stewart Invitational Friday as it won every match it participated in at the Currey Tennis Center on the campus of Vanderbilt University.
In singles and each facing opponents from Middle Tennessee State University, sophomore Brianna Shvets took down Lee Barnard 6-0, 6-0 while freshman Daria Frayman earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Zani Barnard. Freshman Zoe Howard overcame Lidia Borrows 7-6, 6-1 and junior Stephanie Schrage defeated Muskan Gupton 6-2, 6-3.
Sophomore Grace Joyce overcame Marta Perris Herrero 6-4, 6-2, senior Clare McKee defeated Love-Star Alexis of 6-2, 6-7, 7-5, freshman Michelle Sorokko took down Noelle Mauro 6-2, 6-0 and junior Nathalie Rodilosso earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Zoe Klapman.
In doubles, the team of Howard and McKee defeated Kate Popova and Emma Zakordoniec of Lipscomb University 8-7 (4) while Joyce and Sorokko overcame Mauro and Alexis of MTSU 8-0.
Schrage and Rodilosso overcame Lipscomb's Maddox Bandy and Anja Trbeznik 8-5 while Shvets and Frayman triumphed 8-2 over Vasiliki Karvouni and Luniuska Delgado of the University of Kansas.
The Tigers will resume play tomorrow with singles at 10 a.m.
