No. 9 Princeton Secures Third Final Four Trip In Four Years With 2-0 Victory Over No. 2 UConn

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 9 Princeton Tigers earned its third trip in the last four years to the NCAA National Semifinals with a 2-0 victory over the No. 2 UConn Huskies at the Sherman Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

It's the ninth Final Four for Princeton in program history. The Tigers will take on No. 4 Virginia on Nov. 22 at 3:45 p.m. The other semifinal will feature No. 1 North Carolina and No. 7 Boston College (1 p.m.).

Grace Baylis kept the Huskies off the scoreboard about halfway through the first quarter with two point-blank saves.

MaryKate Neff put the Tigers in front as she knocked in a deflection following a corner in the second frame.

The Tigers opened up the second half with two shots, but couldn't produce a second goal. 10 minutes into quarter, UConn peppered Baylis with two straight attempts on a corner, but she blocked them both before Neff stopped another ball from getting in.
UConn pulled its goalie with under eight minutes remaining, but did not get a shot off.

Princeton improves to 15-4 overall and currently is on 12-game winning streak, which is the second longest streak in program history.
