Alarie Leads Princeton To Seventh Straight Victory In 66-50 Decision Over SLU

PRINCETON, N.J. – Bella Alarie set a new program record, recording her 36th double-double, as Princeton collected its seventh straight victory with a 66-50 decision over the St. Louis Bilikens at Chaifetz Arena.

Trailing by one, 11-10, with under three minutes to go in the first quarter, Princeton ran off eight straight to end frame to take an 18-11 lead. The highlight of the run included this long-range trey from Bella Alarie.

The Tigers pushed their lead to 20, but St. Louis answered with nine consecutive points to close the gap to 11, 45-34, halfway through the third stanza. Princeton kept its distance and led by double-digits, 53-43, after 30 minutes.

St. Louis got the game within nine, 57-48, with 5:52 remaining, but Julia Cunningham responded with her 5-0 run to put the game away.

Alarie led all players with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Her double-double surpasses Niveen Rasheed '13 for first all-time. Littlefield matched her personal best with seven helpers. The Tigers had four players in double figures in Alarie, Littlefield, Cunningham and Grace Stone. Cunningham led all players with a +20.

Princeton ended St. Louis' 11-game home winning streak. After earning A-10 Player of the Week honors, the home team's Ciaja Harbison was held to 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting in the loss.

The Tigers improved to 11-1 overall while the Billikens dropped to 7-4 this season. Princeton welcomes New Hampshire to Jadwin for the final game of the 2019 portion of the season on Dec. 29.
