Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Opens Season at New Year’s Invite

FULL RESULTS
PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2019-20 indoor season got off to a strong start for the Princeton University men's & women's track & field teams Saturday inside Jadwin Gymnasium at the Princeton New Year's Invitational on a day that was highlighted by Katie DiFrancesco re-breaking her program record in the 300 meters.
On the women's side, the Tigers earned first-place finishes in eight events while on the men's side they earned six.
In the 300 meters DiFrancesco crossed the line in a personal-best and program record time of 39.29 to earn the victory. She was the owner of the previous school record of 39.44, set at the New Year's Invite in 2018. Olivia Hee also finished first in the 60 meters with a time of 7.67
In the high jump Emma Daugherty cleared 5'1.75" on route to a first-place finish while Hanne Borstlap won the pole vault after a clearing 13'1.75". Megan Ogawa continued the Tigers dominance in the jumps, winning the long jump after a leap of 18'0.5". Tia Rozario would also prevail in the triple jump after hitting a mark of 38'0".
The Tigers would also have an impressive day in the throws; Julia Harisay won the shot put with a distance of 43'9.25" and Luisa Chantler Edmond won the weight throw after a personal-best throw of 57'0.75".
On the men's side, Justice Dixon finished first in the 60 meters after crossing the line in a personal-best time of 6.84. In the 300 meters, Greg Sholars earned a first-place finish with a time of 36.79. Andersen Dimon's time of 50.51 in the 400 meters also saw him finish first.
Gab Montefalcone would earn a personal-best time and win the 60 hurdles in 8.22 and in the pole vault Simen Guttormsen cleared 16'9.25" for the victory.
In the shot put, C.J. Licata prevailed after hitting a personal-best mark of 62'3".
Conor Lundy also competed in the 5000 meters at the at the Boston University Season Opener, finishing 18th with a time of 13:53.98 seconds.
