O'NEILL ON A ROLL
Christian O'Neill has scored a goal in three consecutive games, he is the first Tiger since Max Veronneau (2/23-3/2/19) to hit the back of the net in three straight games. O'Neill's three goals and 8 points this season already surpass his 1 goal and six points from all of last season.Â
CRESS-MAN
Senior Jackson Cressey leads the Tigers in points with 10 in 11 games. His seven assists lead the team, and he is the only Tiger to have scored on both the power play and penalty kill this season. After going three games without a point, Cressey registered assists in both games over the weekend. With 104 career points, he is 15th on the Tigers' all-time list and he is two away from the No. 13 spot. He's eighth on the career assists list with 756 and is two away from tying for No. 6.
GRANDE PLANS
After going five games without a point, Liam Grande found his stride in Belfast and hasn't looked back. He enters tonight with points in each of his last four games dating back to the beginning of the Friendship Four -- the longest active point streak on the team.
SHOTS FIRED
After combining for just 47 shots over two games in Belfast, Princeton returned to Hobey Baker Rink with all sights set on target. The Tigers took 40+ shots on goal in each game against Colorado College, with 42 on Friday night and 41 on Saturday in an overtime loss. Before this weekend, the previous high for the Tigers in terms of shots on goal this season was 32 at Colgate on 11/22.Â
KILLING IT
Princeton was a perfect 10-for-10 on the penalty kill last weekend against Colorado College, including 7-for-7 on Friday night.Â
POWERING UP
Princeton has scored a power-play goal in three consecutive games, and now has at least one PPG in 8-of-12 games this season. Christian O'Neill has a power play goal in each of the last two games.
THOM TAKES A THUMPING
Defenseman Matthew Thom leads Princeton with 16 blocked shots this season. He was giving of his body the most against New Hampshire in Belfast where he blocked six shots. He has 12 total blocked shots over his last six games.
ABOUT THE YELLOW JACKETS
AIC enters the game with a 7-7-0 record and fresh off a sweep of Canisius last weekend which improved AIC to 7-4-0 inside Atlantic Hockey. The Yellow Jackets are 2-4-0 on the road, and tonight's game is the first for AIC away from home ice after six consecutive home games.
AIC is outscoring opponents, 48-31 this season, with 14 different Yellow Jackets finding the back of the net. Elijah Barriga leads AIC with six goals, while Tobias Fladeby has five. The overall points leader for the Yellow Jackets is Patrik Demel -- each of his 10 points as been an assist. Brennan Kapcheck has nine assists while also yet to score. Zackarias Skog is 5-5-0 in goal with a 2.26 GAA and .912 save%.Â
Eric Lang is in his fourth season as head coach at his alma mater, last year he guided the team to an Atlantic Hockey title and NCAA berth.
