Dartmouth Tops Princeton for Third Place at ECAC Championship
February 17, 2019 | Men's Tennis
Dartmouth took the first two doubles matches off court and did the same with the first three singles matches off court to win third-place honors at the ECAC Championship Sunday at Penn.
"Disappointing result today," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We simply didn't make adjustments this weekend and it started with not having success in the doubles point as we have been. Dartmouth played well and went after it while we didn't. We had big points on our racquet today and didn't convert. It's another growth opportunity for our guys and I think we'll be happy to get outside at the Blue Gray next weekend. We'll have a quality week of practice and be ready for some great competition."
The Tigers will compete in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic Friday and Saturday in Montgomery, Ala. Along with Princeton, the field includes No. 23 Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Fresno State, Mississippi, Rice and Texas Tech. A new ITA team ranking will be out Tuesday.
