Kelly Topples An Olympian, Places 2nd in Weight Throw at Millrose Games

NEW YORK – Adam Kelly finished second (22.53m) in the weight throw at the 112th Millrose Games.

It's his best throw since February of 2017. He finished second at the event behind to Conor McCullough (23.24), who was the top American in the hammer throw at the 2016 Rio Olympics. McCullough was a member of the track and field squad from 2010-12. Kelly toppled Rudy Winkler, another 2016 Olympian (22.10). The Tiger had three of six throws go over 22m after his first throw was 19.71m.
The men's track and field team will have competitors at the FastTrack National Invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday (Feb. 8) and BU Valentine Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 9).
