Princeton Picks Up Two Victories At DeNunzio

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 14 Princeton Tigers picked up two wins at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday, dropping the Iona Gaels, 17-7, and the St. Francis-Brooklyn Terriers, 14-6.

After allowing the first goal of the contest, the Tigers rolled off five straight and took a 5-2 advantage into the second quarter. Laura Larkin scored a hat trick in the first stanza and finished with five in the contest. Princeton registered the final two goals of the first half to expand its lead to six, 11-5.
Princeton put the game away by shutting out the Gaels in third quarter, taking a commanding 14-5 advantage into last eight minutes.
Eight different players scored in the game while Marissa Webb stopped eight shots to earn the victory.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's group battles St. Francis-Brooklyn later today (6 p.m.).

The Tigers' offense started quickly, ripping off five of the first six tallies as it took a 6-2 lead after the first frame. The Terriers got within three, but found themselves trailing, 9-5, at the break.
Just like the contest vs. Iona, Princeton pitched a shutout in the third quarter, snagging five goals and running away with an easy victory. The Tigers had eight players score vs. the Terriers.
