Men's Tennis Team Beats Wisconsin on College Tennis Night
March 01, 2019 | Men's Tennis
"I'm proud of the effort and energy we exhibited in a wonderful atmosphere hosted by Centercourt," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "It was a great college tennis match and I think the crowd really fueled our confidence. Wisconsin is well coached and has a quality team. They were 8-0 in doubles points going into the match. We were hoping to break that streak, but they played the bigger points a bit better. Nonetheless, we rebounded we'll by winning all six sets in singles to capture the momentum. Wisconsin made another surge but we were able to finish strong. Our players are very appreciative of Centercourt's hospitality in hosting us and creating an amazing atmosphere."
After Princeton dropped the doubles point, Damian Rodriguez, Will Peters, Bill Duo and Ryan Seggerman won their singles matches to get Princeton to four points, and Davey Roberts and Karl Poling followed with wins to complete the sweep. Here's the fantastic match point from Ryan Seggerman '21 on Court 1 against @BadgerMTennis ! pic.twitter.com/CTgeOn4i88
