Stetson Defeats Princeton as Spring Trip Continues

Princeton scored first against Stetson Tuesday night in Florida, but the Hatters answered and won the midweek matchup 7-1 in DeLand, Fla.
A leadoff error allowed Kaitlyn Waslawski to reach in the top of the third, and two batters later, Kaylee Grant singled her home for a 1-0 lead.
Stetson, though, roared back with four runs in the bottom half of the third, as three singles, including the final one with two outs, tied the game and a Lizzie Shubert three-run home run pushed the lead to 4-1.
The Hatters added to it in the fourth, with four hits, including a double, adding up to a pair of runs and a 6-1 lead, and a leadoff error, a single and a sac fly in the seventh pushed across Stetson's final run.Â
Haley Hoffman led the way for the Tigers with two hits. Tuesday's scheduled second game was cancelled.
The Tigers will head to Orlando to face Central Florida for a 6 p.m. single game Wednesday. Video is available here and live stats are available here.
