Seven All-ECAC Hockey Honors Awarded to Princeton

Seven Princeton Tigers have earned All-ECAC Hockey honors it was announced by the league this afternoon.
The individual awards will be announced tomorrow at the ECAC Hockey Championship Banquet. Princeton has finalists in six categories including: Player of the Year (Sarah Fillier), Best Forward (Sarah Fillier), Rookie of the Year (Sarah Fillier), Best Defenseman (Claire Thompson), Coach of the Year (Cara Morey) and Stephanie Sucharda (Student-Athlete of the Year).
Maggie Connors, Mariah Keopple and Fillier were all named to the All-Rookie Team. It's an incredible feat considering just six players across all 12 teams are selected – and is the most Princeton has ever had on the all-rookie team.
Junior Carly Bullock was named third team, Connors was named second team and Thompson and Fillier were named first-team All-ECAC.
Keopple had three goals and 10 assists for 13 points this season with 10 of those points coming in ECAC play. She led the Tigers in blocked shots with 48 and has a +10 on-ice rating. She had the game-winning assists in two games, both of which were multiple-point games for her.
Connors is 10th in the nation in scoring with 26 goals and 16 assists for 42 points, averaging 1.35 points per game. She is second in the nation in goals per game (0.84), first in the nation in power-play goals (10) and third in game-winning goals (6). Connors is also ranked third in freshmen scoring. Connors led the ECAC in goals scoring in conference play with 22 and had 33 of her 42 points in league play to rank fifth in league scoring. She had a 10-game point scoring streak of 19 points (12-7-19) and a seven-game goal scoring streak of 12 goals. She had a point in 20 games and had 16 multiple-point games. Februarys' national Rookie of the Month, Connors was named ECAC Rookie of the Week on Dec. 10, Player of the Week on Jan. 14 and was the NCAA First Star of the Week on Jan. 15.
Bullock is 11th in the nation in points per game with 20 goals and 21 assist for 41 points in 31 games (1.32 ppg). She totaled 13 multiple-point games and had a point in 20 games. She is 11th in the nation in goals per game with 20 in 36 games and had all four goals in a 4-1 win over Yale earlier in the season. Bullock had two game-winning goals and had four assists on game winners. She tallied her 100th career point last Friday when she had three assists in a win over St. Lawrence in Game 1 of the ECAC quarterfinal series. Twenty-nine of her 41 points came in league play. The 2017 ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year, Bullock was named third-team all-ECAC last year. This year she was named the ECAC Player of the Week on Oct. 29 and was the NCAA First Star of the Week on Oct. 30.
A finalist for Best Defenseman of the Year, Thompson led the league's blueliners in conference scoring, averaging 1.05 points per game with 23 points in 22 games. She ranks fifth in the nation in defenseman scoring with 27 points on eight goals and 19 assists in 31 games. Of her eight goals scored this season, four were game-winning goals, while four assists led to game-winning goals. On the season, the Tigers are 16-0-2 when Thompson has at least one point. She had seven multiple-point games and had a season-best three point game in a 6-0 win over Colgate. Thompson is a +16 on the season and has 45 blocked shots. This is her first ECAC honor.
Fillier leads the nation in scoring with 2.00 points per game and is also the leader in assists per game while ranking fifth in goals per game. Entering championship weekend, Fillier has scored 54 points on 20 goals and 34 assists in 27 games. She has had a six-game goal-scoring streak of nine points and a nine-game point scoring streak totaling 23 points. She has had a point in 22 games and 18 multiple-point games. A two-time Hockey Commissioner's Association Rookie of the Month, Fillier was also a two-time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month and earned four ECAC Hockey weekly honors. A Patty Kazmaier top-10 finalist, Fillier was named the NCAA First Star of the Week on January 8 and March 4.
Princeton faces Cornell in the ECAC Hockey semifinal on Saturday. Game time is at 1 p.m., at Lynah Rink.
