Tigers Go for Third Straight Ivy Title This Weekend
April 18, 2019 | Women's Golf
If the Princeton women's golf team achieves its goal, the Tigers will make Princeton the second program in league history to win three consecutive Ivy League titles.
The 2017 and 2018 champions will head to The Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, N.J., Friday through Sunday for three rounds on the par-72, 6,042-yard course with one round each day. Princeton has won six titles in 22 years since the tournament began, winning four of the first nine from 1997-2005, including four of seven from 1999-2005. Princeton then won again in 2017 before making it back-to-back for the second time in program history along with 2004 and 2005.
Live scoring will be available via Golfstat here. Juniors Maya Walton and Alison Chang, sophomore Anabelle Chang, rookie Sophie Siminoff and senior Tiana Lau will represent the Tigers.
Only Harvard has won three in a row since the tournament began in 1997, winning five straight from 2012-16.
Friday's and Sunday's round will begin at 9 a.m. while Saturday's round will begin at 12:30 p.m. The Tigers have three players who already have All-Ivy League honors to their credit, with Anabelle Chang as a first-teamer a year ago, Alison Chang as a first-teamer in 2017, and Walton as a second-teamer in 2017 and first-teamer and Ivy Player of the Year in 2018.
