4x800 Wins Penn Relays

Penn Relay Results l TCNJ Results
Princeton's 4x800 relay brought home a Penn Relays Championship with a victory in the college final on Saturday afternoon.
The wind was a huge factor at Franklin Field today but the Tigers were able to fight it off posting a winning time of 9:04.79. Senior Allison Glossinger led off with a 2:18.73 before sophomore Sophie Cantine clocked a 2:13.70. Junior Madeleine Sumner ran a 2:17.83 in the third leg before senior Madison Offstein closed with a 2:14.55.
It was a huge recovery for the Tigers whose Penn Relays started out with a dropped baton in the first leg of the distance medley relay Championship of America race. The crew finished with a time of 11:51.28.
Freshman Hanne Borstlap took third place in the women's pole vault championship, presented by Powering America. She was over 3.70 on her first attempt and 3.85 (12-7.5) on her second attempt.
Senior Brighie Leach was 25th in the women's steeplechase at 10:52.06.
At the TCNJ Invitational, freshman Lindsey Schmidt was the runner-up in the high jump and had the best time for the Tigers in the 100 hurdles. Schmidt cleared 1.65 in the high jump to place second and clocked a 15.59 in the hurdles. Freshman Emma Daugherty was third places back in the high jump with a 1.60.
Sophomore Alexandra Munson who PR'ed in the pole vault last weekend at the Larry Ellis Invitational took third place with a 3.50.
Sophomore Clare Martin did double duty, running both the 800 and 1500, clocking 2:27.26 and 5:01.40.
Princeton hosts the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships next weekend at Weaver Stadium.
