Lightweight Rowing Nabs First Silver Medal Since 2011 At IRA Championship

SACRAMENTO – The women's lightweight team picked up its first silver medal since 2011 as the IRA National Championships concluded on Sunday afternoon.
Princeton placed second (6:37.33) as Stanford won its fifth straight title. It's the first time that the Tigers have medaled in three straight IRAs since 2005-07. The Tigers' 4.5-second deficit is 3.7-second improvement from last year's IRA contest.
The Tigers' lightweight four unit earned the sixth position (7:45.84) in its Grand Final. Stanford took the top spot (7:12.85). Princeton's doubles team was fourth (7:58.28) behind BU, Georgetown and Wisconsin.
