June 23, 2019 | Women's Rowing - Lightweight
HENLEY, England – The Princeton women's lightweight crew raced in the historic Henley Royal Regatta this weekend.
The V8 raced in a time trial on Saturday and finished just three seconds behind Newcastle A open-weights and four seconds behind Laga Rowing Club from Netherlands. Newcastle is considered one of the fastest crews in the country while Laga has won the Henley several times.
Princeton's V8 team did two barrier pieces against the Newcastle Open-weight B boat, defeating it by one length in each race. The Tigers also fell by four lengths to the Great Britain Senior Open-weight National Squad.
The group's double squad ran in a team trial before easily dispatching Tulsa in a knockout duel. Princeton lost to Nottingham in the semifinal.
Princeton's V8 and double boats became the 57th and 58th Princeton boats to race at the Henley Royal Regatta. For more information on Princeton at Henley, check out this story here.
