Princeton Football To Appear Three Times On ESPN Linear Networks
June 24, 2019 | Football
The 2019 football season will be a huge one for Princeton, which will be coming off its first perfect season in 54 years while also celebrating the 150th anniversary of college football and its role as one of the first two teams to play the sport.
The Ivy League announced its ESPN TV schedule today, and you'll have three chances to see Princeton on an ESPN linear network this fall. Princeton will be the only team in the league to play in three ESPN games.
Of those three games, one is at home, one is away and one is at a neutral site. Also, two of them will be on Friday nights.
The first of those will be Friday, Oct. 11, when Princeton plays host to Lafayette, while the other Friday game will feature Princeton at Cornell on Nov. 1. Both of those will kick off at 7 and be seen on ESPNU.
Princeton will also be playing at Yankee Stadium against Dartmouth on Nov. 9, which will be three days after the exact 150th anniversary of Princeton's game in 1869 against Rutgers in the first football game ever played. The Princeton-Dartmouth game at Yankee Stadium will be played at a time to be determined on an ESPN network to be determined.
Princeton went 10-0 a year ago, including a 14-9 win over a Dartmouth team that would finish 9-1. Princeton averaged 47.0 points per game last year for the highest-scoring offense in Ivy League history.
In addition to the linear TV games, Princeton's other four home games will be seen on ESPN+. Those games are Sept. 21 against Butler, Oct. 5 against Columbia, Oct. 26 against Harvard and Nov. 16 against Yale. The Butler game will start at 5 and be Community and Staff Day, and the other three will all be 1:00 kickoffs.
