2019 Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. – Having won three of the last four Ivy League titles, the Princeton Tigers look to get back on top of the conference as the 2019 season schedule has been released.
"We are so excited to compete this fall against some fantastic teams," said head coach Sabrina King. "The 2019 season is highlighted by welcoming Oregon to Dillon Gym for a mid-week match. The Ducks finished ninth in the AVCA poll last season and will help us see how we match up against the best in the nation. Princeton had five set thrillers against both Maryland and Towson last season, and I expect no less this fall. Additionally, we will face familiar local foes Rutgers and Temple, as well as Arkansas and University of Virginia, who we haven't played in over 30 years. Overall, we will be poised to take on the always competitive Ivy League conference play."
The Tigers open up the 2019 campaign at the Rutgers Tournament (Sept. 6-7) where they will take on Virginia, Rutgers and Towson. The following week, Princeton heads to College Park, Md., for the Maryland Tournament (Sept. 13-14). King's squad battles George Mason, Arkansas and the host, Terrapins.
The Dillon Gym opener is against the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. Oregon reached the regional final at the 2018 NCAA Tournament before losing to the national runner-up Nebraska. The Tigers head to Villanova for two matches vs. Temple (Sept. 20) and La Salle (Sept. 21).
Ivy League play gets underway at Dillon Gym with the Penn Quakers coming to town (Sept. 27). That begins a stretch of five straight home Ivy meetings. The first weekend in October features Columbia (Oct. 4) and Cornell (Oct. 5) before Yale (Oct. 11) and Brown (Oct. 12). The weekend of Oct. 11-12 is also Volleyball Parents Weekend.
Princeton begins Ivy road action at Harvard (Oct. 18) and Dartmouth (Oct. 19). The Tigers, then, head to Philadelphia for a matchup with Penn (Oct. 25). The month of November starts on the road at Cornell (Nov. 1) and Columbia (Nov. 2). Dartmouth (Nov. 8) and Harvard (Nov. 9) wrap up the home portion of the year before a trip to Brown (Nov. 15) and Yale (Nov. 16) complete the 2019 regular season.
