Llewellyn Invited to Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp
July 18, 2019 | Men's Basketball
Princeton rising sophomore Jaelin Llewellyn is one of 20 players across the country to earn an invite to the Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp to be held July 18-21 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Llewellyn is coming off a 2018-19 rookie season in which he started all 21 games in which he played after missing the first seven games of the year to injury and illness. Even with the early-season missed games, Llewellyn led the team in assists, with 55, and had a 1.5:1 assist-to-turnover ratio while becoming the first rookie to lead the team in assists in 12 years. Llewellyn was one of four Tigers to average double-figure scoring, putting in 10.1 points a game and bookending his freshman season with a 17-point debut against St. John's at Madison Square Garden and another 17-point game in the Ivy League Tournament semifinal at Yale. He scored a career-best 22 points in the HoopHall Boardwalk Classic against Iona in Atlantic City.
The Princeton men's basketball Instagram account will be posting Llewellyn's photos from the event @princetonmensbasketball.
Numerous camp attendees have gone on to be NBA draft picks and players. From last year's camp roster, Quinndary Weatherspoon, Justin Wright-Foreman, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Tremont Waters, Carsen Edwards and Ty Jerome were taken in the 2019 NBA Draft.Â
