July 05, 2019 | Women's Cross Country, Women's Track and Field
The Princeton women's track & field and cross country coaching staff is pleased to announce the 14 incoming Tigers that will make up the Class of 2023.
"I am so excited to welcome 14 very talented and well accomplished women to our team," head coach Michelle Eisenreich said. "As a group they represent high levels of achievement in every event area. As we continue to build our team toward an Ivy Championship, these Tigers will play a key role with both their athletic skill and leadership abilities."

Beth Barlow
Loreto School of Cheshire, UK
800M: 2:08.49
1500M: 4:24.31
COACH COMMENT
Beth has demonstrated great speed on the track at both 800M and 1500M, while showing range to be highly competitive in cross country. Her lifetime best at 1500M came in victory with a blazing fast last 400M. Beth indicated that being surrounded by great teammates and training partners, while pursuing an elite education, were important factors to attend university in the United States. Beth will bring a wealth of life experience and high expectations to our young team this year.
WHY PRINCETON
"The combination of a world class education and the Division I athletics programme made Princeton one of my top choices. However, as an international student, the quality of the support systems and the fact that I felt so welcomed by the athletics team, were the most important factors in making my final decision. I am confident that there will be someone to turn to if any challenges arise, and therefore feel optimistic about being successful and happy throughout the next four years. I am very grateful about becoming a part of Princeton and can't wait to start. " - Beth Barlow

Emily Garner
Woodbridge High School, CA
High Jump: 5'8"
Triple Jump: 39'5.5"
3rd at the 2018 California State Championships
COACH COMMENT
Even though Emily missed her senior track season due to a soccer injury she still arrives on campus as one of the country's top jump prospects. In her second year of high jumping as a junior, Emily cleared 5'8" to finish third at the California state meet after finishing fifth the year before. Emily also established herself as one of the state's top triple jumpers making the state finals every year since she was a freshman. Emily's work ethic, undeveloped potential and her positive outlook make her a very exciting addition to our team.
WHY PRINCETON
"Princeton is a special institution where, for athletes especially, success and learning in the classroom is stressed just as much as success and triumph on the track. I knew that by choosing to attend Princeton I would be challenging myself to succeed in both of those aspects, and that by attending I would be opening hundreds of doors for myself. I know Princeton will present me with the most opportunities to grow not only on the track under amazing coaches and in the classroom with the most respected professors, but overall as a person being alongside the brightest students in the world constantly." - Emily Garner

Andelyn Granskog
Lake Park High School, IL
Long Jump: 18'5"
100M Hurdles: 15.08
High Jump: 5'4
Pentathlon: 3200
Heptathlon: 4203
COACH COMMENT
After spending most of her athletic career competing as a gymnast, Andie will make her mark at Princeton in the heptathlon and pentathlon. The strength and body awareness she gained through gymnastics has already served Andie well as she finished ninth at the New Balance Indoor. She is well rounded in all of the events and will be a formidable threat as she continues to grow as a heptathlete.
WHY PRINCETON
"Princeton was the perfect fit for me because of its competitive academic and athletic nature. Throughout the college decision process, my biggest concern was finding a college that was a good fit for me academically, and it doesn't really get more challenging than Princeton. I'm eager to meet new classmates, connect with professors, work hard alongside my new teammates, and expand my abilities as a student-athlete. I know academics and athletics at Princeton will be a challenge, but I am looking forward to every minute of it." - Andelyn Granskog

Megan Ogawa
Osbourn Park HS, VA
5.83m (19'1.75") – Long Jump
COACH COMMENT
Megan has been one of the most competitive long jumpers in the state of Virginia since 2016. What's most impressive is she has been able to be so competitive without a coach to provide a technical model. Even still, we believe she's shown glimpses of a jumper who is capable of being a quadrennial podium finisher in the horizontal jumps.
WHY PRINCETON
"Ever since I visited Princeton for the first time, it was very clear to me that this was a dream school. The type of atmosphere that this school fosters is extremely supportive and encouraging, and I really felt that I could do just about anything. Beyond academic and athletic rigor, the Princeton community is unmatched. After my official visit, I immediately wanted to be a part of the determined and supportive group of women training under Coach Hunt. 2019 NJSIAA State 400m Hurdle Champion

COACH COMMENT
We love watching Arianna compete. Her aggression and fearlessness led her to the 2019 New Jersey Meet of Champions title in the 400M hurdles, after finishing 16th a year ago. Arianna's performance shaved over two and a half seconds off her personal best and ranks 10th nationally. She rode that momentum all the way to New Balance Nationals, where she finished eighth overall against some of country's top long hurdlers. She's made tremendous strides in her flat speed and sprint hurdle technique as well, setting personal bests in the open 400M and 100M hurdles her senior year. Our coaching staff sees Arianna as a leading contributor in the sprints/hurdles group for years to come.

Not only is Princeton a first-rate academic institution, but the Princeton running program is rigorous and competitive—offering runners the tools to succeed both within the Ivy League and at the national level. Beyond academic and athletic rigor, the Princeton community is unmatched. After my official visit, I immediately wanted to be a part of the determined and supportive group of women training under Coach Hunt. Ultimately, Princeton offers the opportunity to pursue everything at the highest level, all while being surrounded by a special community of hard-working individuals." - Charlotte O'Toole

Tia possesses the ability rewrite the Princeton record books. She is Singapore's National record holder in the triple jump as well as the U15, U17 and U19 age group record holder in the long jump. As a coaching staff, we appreciate her growth mindset – which has led her to be a perfectionist in pursuing excellence in the horizontal jumps. After seeing track and field as an individual sport for so long, she is eager to participate in team athletics at the NCAA level.
WHY PRINCETON
"I chose Princeton for its academic rigor and impressive Track & Field program which grants me the opportunity to push my boundaries and grow as a student athlete. Through first interactions, I could feel the strong sense of pride and identity Princeton Tigers possess for their school, which stem from the beautiful spirit and culture present on campus. I am beyond excited to be joining this diverse community of passionate people!" - Tia Rozario

Arianna Smith

14.44 – 100M Hurdles
56.67 – 400M
2019 NJSIAA State 400m Hurdle Champion
2019 New Balance Nationals 400M Hurdle Finalist
WHY PRINCETON
"My first visit to Princeton epitomized the definition of a true college experience. The close-knit community, diversity of the students, and their contagious will to succeed was too good of an opportunity to miss. Simply walking around the beautiful campus left me in awe. Most importantly, Princeton's coaching staff strives to aid in the betterment of your character, not just your athletic abilities. The unique bonds and relationships I witnessed amongst the team made my final decision extremely effortless. I am beyond excited to be a part of this prestigious institution and uplifting track and field program! Tiger Up!" - Arianna Smith
