Sharkey and Wong Collect Medals at 2019 Pan American Games

LIMA, PERU – The Princeton Tigers will bring home two medals from the 2019 Pan American Games as Kathleen Sharkey '13 and Elise Wong '19 collected hardware.

Wong and Team Canada earned the silver medal, falling to Argentina, 5-1, in the final. It was the first time that the country had made the Pan American Games Final since 1991. It got there by defeating the United States, 2-0. The only two matches that Canada dropped in the tournament was to Argentina, ranked No. 3 in the world. This is Wong's first international medal with Canada.

The United States quickly rebounded after the loss to Canada with a 5-1 win over Chile to secure the bronze. This is Sharkey's sixth medal with the U.S. National team.

Both teams will look to qualify for the Olympics in events later this year.
